After the sneaker and streetwear retailer ONYGO was on the verge of going out of business last fall, the takeover by former Görtz CEO Frank Revermann in spring brought about a positive turnaround. The new owner was able to save 19 stores of the former Deichmann subsidiary and has been running the clothing chain under its previous name since March 1, 2024. The particular challenge was to introduce a new merchandise management solution and equip all stores with new checkout systems in just five weeks. What seemed almost impossible in such a short space of time in terms of data transfer, store equipment, employee training and go-live was successfully achieved by ONYGO with the support of Dortmund-based software provider REMIRA.
REMIRA only had just over a month from the start of the project to the binding go-live date at ONYGO. To achieve this ambitious goal, the expert for omnichannel commerce and supply chain solutions opted for an MVP (minimum viable program) approach. The initial focus was on providing the optimum minimum setup to enable implementation within the specified timeframe. Specifically, the REMIRA POS system was introduced at all 19 locations, which not only enables a fast and uncomplicated checkout process, but also supports back-office activities such as incoming goods management and store stock transfers. REMIRA has also implemented its PAYMENT solution, including the POS terminals integrated into the cash register interface, for processing payment transactions. The fact that these are already preconfigured and ready for immediate use thanks to Plug & Play has accelerated the process at ONYGO enormously. Frank Revermann, Managing Director of ONYGO, adds:
"It's great that we have achieved such a good result in such a short time. The standard delivered by REMIRA hit the nail on the head. Despite the complete system changeover, everything worked without a hitch and we didn't have a single minute of lost sales."
The employees at ONYGO are also impressed by the REMIRA solutions in practice. The positive impression from the training courses has been confirmed after the go-live and they particularly appreciate the intuitive operation of the modern POS system. In addition, some functions that were missing in the solutions used previously - such as the item search - are now integrated, which makes daily work much easier. Another added value is the minimal administrative effort for the sneaker and streetwear retailer: if ONYGO wants to change the text on the receipts, for example, this no longer has to be done individually in each store. Instead, all print layouts can be conveniently controlled from the head office. Last but not least, thanks to REMIRA, ONYGO obtains all solutions from a single source and benefits from having just one point of contact for all checkout and payment issues.
Frank Revermann summarizes:
"With REMIRA, we have not only received the optimal solutions, but also a partner at eye level who has supported us in this challenging and stressful situation."
Building on its successes to date, ONYGO is already planning further measures to expand its collaboration with REMIRA. Among other things, the rollout of the INSTORE app is planned, which will provide employees with digital support on their smartphone or tablet for all store processes - from advice and back-office tasks to stock transfers. In the next step, ONYGO would also like to use the REMIRA INSTORE app as a mobile checkout and thus enable payment directly on the sales floor. The sneaker and streetwear retailer is also planning to connect its suppliers via EDI in order to automate the previously manual processes and reduce the workload for employees. Last but not least, the external central warehouse is also to be connected to the REMIRA solutions so that the entire data exchange process can be automated in future.
