Food wholesaler Utz optimizes inventories with REMIRA LOGOMATE

Utz GmbH & Co KG is now using LOGOMATE from REMIRA to optimize its daily scheduling processes. The system provides AI-supported sales forecasts as well as automatic ordering and replenishment suggestions. Thanks to this collaboration, the food wholesaler is reducing its replenishment costs and improving inventory quality.

As a leading private food wholesaler, Utz offers its customers in southern Germany a comprehensive range of products. This wide variety of products is reflected in particular in the high level of planning required. For this reason, the company opted for the replenishment software LOGOMATE from the software provider REMIRA in Dortmund.

"With LOGOMATE, we want to use our historical data to identify large inventories even earlier. In this way, the sales department can start planned actions at an early stage in order to proactively sell off excess stock,"

explains Managing Director Matthias Utz. The new software is also intended to reduce the workload of dispatchers, replace the paper-based system and ensure an even better delivery rate.

Workshop reinforces the project

LOGOMATE was particularly convincing with its function to include seasonalities and promotional periods in the calculations. "In a two-day workshop, we gained a comprehensive insight into all customer processes and the daily challenges of scheduling at Utz," summarizes Kevin Urgacz, project manager at REMIRA. "The variety of discounts and promotions that we discussed and defined together in order to successfully integrate them into LOGOMATE was particularly interesting." The project has been successfully completed and the first measurable results are expected in the coming weeks.
