The challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic have increased dramatically, especially for companies in the hygiene and medical products sector. In these times, optimal scheduling is essential for the company's success. But even before Covid-19 had logistics under control, Kruse Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Neumünster, which sells goods and services in the cleaning, hygiene, disposable and medical products sectors, was looking for inventory management software. This was intended to automate the previous manual scheduling and at the same time improve delivery capability.

REMIRA has appointed finance expert Ralph Hartwig as its new CFO with effect from June 1, 2024. This completes the management team of the software provider, which was reorganized at the end of 2023 and consists of CEO Dirk Bingler, Mario Raatz (CSO), Dennis Dreibrodt (COO), Elena Peter (CTO Commerce) and Oliver Jenneskens (CTO Supply Chain). The focus is now on transforming the internationally active software company from a product to a platform provider for AI-based supply chain planning and unified commerce. In addition, the management team wants to further drive growth and company integration within the group. 

Effective planning is essential for companies to be able to adapt value chains to volatile markets. In supply chain management in particular, a cross-functional process is necessary to coordinate supply and demand and all parties involved. Supply chain planning, inventory management and other supply chain management functions are often planned and implemented independently of each other. Sales & Operations Planning and Integrated Business Planning have established themselves as planning approaches at this point. In this blog post, we will explain the differences, similarities and potential of the two approaches.

With around 50,000 items and five stationary stores, of which the location in Mühlheim-Kärlich alone covers more than 4,000 square meters, INTERSPORT KRUMHOLZ is one of the largest retailers in the German INTERSPORT network. To digitalize and simplify its store processes, the sporting goods retailer decided to introduce the REMIRA INSTORE app in mid-2019. This was accompanied by the goal of increasing the consulting capacity on the sales floor, reducing waiting times for customers and making processes faster, more efficient and more cost-effective. As a result, customers benefit from a significantly optimized shopping experience and employees can carry out all services - from stock queries to the checkout process - directly on the sales floor.

With Rijk Zwaan Australia, another 4 users have stepped on board for their daily job of demand forecasting and replenishment planning. Demand Planning is now supporting 38 users in The Netherlands (Benelux), Spain (including Morocco), France, Italy, UK, Germany RZ GmbH (covering Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), Poland, Portugal, Israel (managed by RZ Export) and Australia. Subsequent roll outs scheduled for July this year will be to RZ Export for South Korea, Greece, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Iran and to Hungary.

Sales planning at CALIDA, a long-established Swiss lingerie manufacturer, has become even more complex in recent years due to the increase in online retail. Nevertheless, the company has been able to rely on REMIRA’s TIA A3 sales planning software and successfully drive its omnichannel strategy forward. The decentralization of sales planning was a decisive step in this process.

Complete stocktaking in just one shift: Centrotherm, a company based in Brilon, Germany, known as a developer, manufacturer and distributor of gas flue systems for condensing boilers, has already relied on sample stocktaking in the past. With REMIRA, however, Centrotherm was able to reduce the counting effort even further: Their SaaS software STATCONTROL Cloud in combination with a counting app ensured greatly reduced warehouse closing times at Centrotherm. 

Optimized warehouse stocks, improved product availability and a significant reduction in time-consuming tasks for employees have all been achieved thanks to the introduction of the LOGOMATE inventory management software at DURAL. After successfully implementing the program at all its international locations, DURAL is now able to ensure centralized, transparent coordination of all orders at its company headquarters in the German Westerwald region.

REMIRA is setting the course for future development of the company: On November 1, Dirk Bingler (48) will become the new CEO of the supply chain and omnichannel software expert headquartered in Dortmund. The previous CEO Stephan Unser (62) moves to the top of the REMIRA Advisory Board as Chairman, where he will support management in Germany and Italy in the further expansion of REMIRA.

Balancing demand and supply: True to this motto, Walbusch Walter Busch GmbH & Co. KG has chosen REMIRA TIA A3 Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) as their planning solution. The previous system landscape hardly met the requirements of the fashion company. In the future, the Walbusch Group wants to use TIA A3 to harmonize and ideally support the processes for the central procurement of all brands.

REMIRA is further expanding its market position in Europe with two additional acquisitions in Italy. The companies Optisoft S.r.l. and Gea Soft S.r.l. are now part of REMIRA and expand the product range with their software solutions for travel management systems, customs administration, shift planning, quality control, production planning and streamlining of business processes.  

Fashion and lifestyle brand Fynch-Hatton has been relying on REMIRA for its stocktaking since spring this year - with success: stocktaking has been reduced from one week to half a day. The company from Mönchengladbach, which stands for modern casual wear in premium quality, is replacing the time-consuming full inventory from previous years with the STATCONTROL Cloud inventory sampling solution.
