Provisional paper lists are no longer sufficient for flawless procurement management in e-commerce. DELTA-V GmbH recognized this challenge early on and therefore opted for the LOGOMATE inventory management software from REMIRA. The new system quickly convinced the office furniture expert in its day-to-day business and has since reduced stock levels by up to 25%.

New replenishment solution replaces error-prone and time-consuming paper lists
DELTA-V decided to switch to a suitable software solution to ensure that inventory management also meets the high quality requirements. Previously, the company used paper lists for stock planning, which meant that stock levels were often too high and the workload was enormous. Even the ERP system originally used with automatic order proposals did not have the desired effect. Carsten Heider, Purchasing Manager at DELTA-V, explains: "Back then, DELTA-V worked with long paper lists, which were then checked and compared with the ERP system. A specially developed formula was used to calculate the safety stock and define the reorder points. This procedure was not only time-consuming, but also prone to careless mistakes by employees." The high cost becomes clear when looking at the key figures: DELTA-V manages a total of 140,000 SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) in its warehouse, 6,000 of which are active. A solution was therefore needed to optimize the stock and simplify the entire process. DELTA-V's IT manager came across an article on LOGOMATE from REMIRA in a trade magazine. The shortlist included not only the well-known references of the software provider from Dortmund, but also the functions of the inventory management software.
LOGOMATE uses AI and mathematical algorithms to make stock forecasts and calculate optimum requirements and sales figures. As a result, the user receives well-founded ordering and replenishment suggestions with which they can plan their procurement in the best possible way. To do this, the software is simply connected to the existing upstream system via an interface.
Save time in day-to-day business: Replenishment in minutes instead of hours
LOGOMATE practically takes over the data from the ERP system via the interface. Taking into account the parameters and conditions defined by DELTA-V, the software then creates the optimum replenishment and order calculations. The dispatchers also receive various warning messages about SKUs that require special attention. Based on this data and replenishment criteria, DELTA-V handles the daily replenishment of all warehouse suppliers, taking into account the previously defined replenishment days.
Since the introduction of LOGOMATE, DELTA-V has been able to reduce its stock levels by 25%. The time required for replenishment has also been significantly reduced:
"Nowadays, replenishment takes between ten minutes and two hours, depending on the supplier and the order items. Previously, the process could take up to 6 hours. This saves us a lot of time every day, which our employees can use for other tasks",
reports Carsten Heider.
In DELTA-V's day-to-day business, there are also many special features that affect inventory management - for example, the sale of furniture sets and individual components. It was therefore essential that LOGOMATE also took into account the corresponding dependencies and requirements at all levels. DELTA-V worked closely with REMIRA's LOGOMATE consulting team to optimize the parameters for these special company requirements. In addition to regular meetings, this also included systematic success monitoring.
LOGOMATE's potential has not yet been exhausted
With the help of LOGOMATE, DELTA-V was able to reduce its stock levels and streamline its daily replenishment . The long-standing cooperation was further strengthened when DELTA-V once again decided to connect to LOGOMATE when switching to a new ERP system. Nevertheless, the project between the two companies is not yet complete, as Carsten Heider sums up:
"LOGOMATE is a very well-suited tool for our replenishment, and the consulting team helped us to determine the right parameters for us. We have already significantly optimized our procurement. Nevertheless, we are continuing to work on fine-tuning the system even more closely to our requirements."
